Do You Think It Is Ok for Me to Get 28 More Dogs?

Ok so here is what is happening, My aunt is immagrating to Canada in January 2010, so she said on MSN when she moves here she will stay in our basment and we will get another dog. After we went off MSN I told my Mom that my Aunt said that we could get another dog when she moves here and then she said ok thats good but after five minutes she actually said I could get as many dogs as I want when my aunt moves here. And she really meant it seriously even though she has OCD lol. So she said maximum 30 dogs. Big dogs in the basment with my Aunt, and small dogs up stairs where we live.
Will these dogs get along.

Too many dogs. Getting that many cats is also too many.
How would you be able to cope? Not good. The plan of rescuing your dogs is an excellent one but………………………
Half a dozen dogs would be too many.

can you afford to feed 30 dogs, vet 30 dogs? Can you walk 30 dogs? Clean up after 30 dogs? If not then stick to what you can handle, as far as time and money go.

Umm… U R Nuts! there is ABSOLUTELY no way that this could happen! no way can that many dogs comfortably live in ONE house! Someone should call animal control.

Why do you need 28 dogs? Why would you want 28 dogs? Do you know what that's called? Hoarding.

Get one or two dogs at the most. Trust me, they will keep you perfectly happy and busy. 28 is WAY WAY too many dogs. There is a reason why it's illegal in many places to have even over four or five dogs on a property.

I think you are foolish to even consider that many dogs. You have no idea how much time, effort, attention and money those dogs will need. You will not be able to give them the attention they deserve.

Really I have doubts of all dogs getting along, plus if the cats aren't declawed and they scratch a dogs face it could make it extremely sick

So you have unlimited time and money? How do you plan on training, feeding, grooming and caring for all these dogs? Can you afford the food and vet costs? What about local laws on the amount of pets allowed in one house?

You cannot guarantee that dogs will get along, even if raised together as puppies. When the hormones kick in, you can (and probably will) have some serious problems.

It looks like you are well on your way to being a hoarder. You want lots of pets, but will probably not be able to care for all of them properly for the next 15 years.

Stick to 3-4 dogs. You should be able to handle those.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but that is one of the worst most irresponsible ideas I've heard! How on earth would you possibly care for that many dogs properly? Do you realize what it costs to feed them and take care of vet costs, such as shots, spay/neutering, potential health problems that could very well arise? I would not recommend it in the least! Plus, most cities have ordinances against having that many animals. They call it "hoarding." It's not safe for the animals and not fair either. You can't keep them all locked up in a basement like that. They need to be out and play, get love, groomed, etc. If you keep that many animals in your home you run a very high risk of them getting sick. If you love dogs so much, do volunteer work at your local shelter or get some stuffed animals!

No, no, no.. no. No. You couldn't possibly afford to take care of that many dogs. That's called hoarding.

how old are you and are you mad getting that many dogs is dumb they each need shots they each need food they each need attention!! it would be better if you only adopt one or two at most unless you are going to foster dogs for the pound that helps the pound and lets you have a lot of different dogs on temp. bases but only a few at a time talk to your local shelter they would let you know how many you can have at a time

Thank God this is ILLEGAL. Hopefully, neighbors will be complaining from the barking and smell and animal control will be knocking down your door.
You should be doing lots of research before getting one dog.
It's a nice thought to want to rescue and home thirty dogs, but it is impossible for one person to take on this responsibility. There was recently a case similar to this in my town, where a lady had twenty some odd Corgi's in her home. Of course, she was fined. All of her dogs were taken to the local Humane Society. Some had to be put to sleep because the lady didn't have the money to give them the medical attention they desperately needed. The ones that were able to go up for adoption have special needs, such as medical problems, or don't do well with children/cats/or other dogs. We all know that it's hard for adult dogs to become adopted especially ones with special needs, and in the end they end up being put to sleep. It's a real shame! I'm sure she meant well, but she really damaged these poor dogs. Please think of the dogs.

You said in your profile that your Aunt lives next door already AND your mom made you get rid of your last pets. No chance that you are getting 28 dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ADD!

Hey, if you have the time and money, and the experience to train the dogs to get along, why not?

But it will be a full time job and you would likely need many yards and different playgroups. You might as well not own all these dogs, but get into doggie daycare. Then you can clean up after dogs all day and get paid for it at the same time.
