Mini .22 Mag Pug Revolver Question?

I just wanted to know if it can chamber any .22 round because it is chambered for a mag. Can it shoot shorts and longs as well or low velocity rounds for back yard quiet plinking. Also how does it work as a self defense weapon just in case. Does anyone have one of these or any mini .22 that could give any pros or cons. Figured it would be a hell of a lot cheaper to be target shooting with longs instead of my .45

Thanks for the help

No, not as it is. The 22 magnum cylinder is for only 22 magnum. A 22 long rifle cylinder will/would work with the shorter rounds, but the Pug doesn’t have the dual cylinder option that many other models have available. (I don’t know why they don’t just make it easy for the Pug, too.)

The site navigation has changed since I saw it explained on there. Basically, it was that you can buy a 22 long rifle cylinder for it, but you need to send in the frame to have cylinder fitted and timed.

The .22 Mag has a different case diameter than .22LR or .22 Shorts. A .22 Mag will only chamber a .22 Mag.

My NAA is chambered in .22LR, so I can use CBs or Shorts in it.

Thanks for coming to ask before you tried it.

Theoretically, you could. But i searched a few forums and the general consensus is not to do it.

If you could fire 22lr, they would have included a 22lr cylinder to replace the mag one.

22lr is more devestating than people make it up to be. They cause extremely nasty bullet wounds. I imagine a 22mag would be even worse.

Goverment needs to stop Kony; Raping, Murdering, Forcing Murder. … Terrible ! He makes kids kill their own parents. Please !!!! Please !!!!! Please !!!!! STOP KONY !!!!! Print flyiers, make fliers, and hang them around town. America is NOW starting to care, after over 20 years of killing innocent people. How do they have the right to go in your home, and abduct you children. Turning girls to prostitues for free, and boys to soldiers. Making them rearrange others faces. STOP KONY !!!!!!!!!!!!! Post flyers around town on April 20th and show Washington We demand to stop innocent children!!!! This should have been stopped YEARS AGO.

Yah, not quite. You need a .22 LR cylinder for it, because the .22LR is shorter than the .22 Mag. You can run into a problem with shaving if you just run .22LR in the Mag cylinder.

I’ve actually got a NAA Mini Master with both cylinders and I like it quite well. I was reasonably impressed with the quality of manufacture, and in particular with the accuracy I could wring out of it. It has a heavy trigger, but with care I can shoot dime size 5 shot groups out to 25 - 30 feet. Now that is with the larger grip on it, and the longer barrel, but still.

The only caveat I’ll make on it is that the zero for .22LR vs. .22 Mag. seems surprisingly different for me. At 10 yards I wouldn’t have thought it made much of a difference, but the groups are significantly different. I will also say, mine seems to perform better with Mags than with LR, but that may just be some level of selection bias because I shoot more mag through it than LR.

Still I like mine quite well. A really handy fun little gun.
