Mini Pugs

Giant Pug and Mini Pugs?

Sunday, January 16th, 2011

I saw these dogs at the park and there were a bunch of little pugs (tan bodies and black faces) and there was a giant one that must have been 6 times their size but with the same tan body and black face. He had the wrinkles and everything. did it just grow more then the others?

Mastiff maybe?

Possibly just a bad result of BYB and horrible genetics.

Pugs should be between 14-20 pounds. Not any smaller, and not any bigger.

Any larger than that and it’s a horrible example of a Pug.(That one is pretty large for a champion show dog anyway)

^^Thats a little closer to standard.

Do Dachsunds and Pugs Get Along?

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

my sister has a pug, she has had him for about 9 or 10 months. if she got a mini dachsund, would they get along??

Depends on the dogs. Dachshunds tend to be yippee, while pugs tend to be more laid back. It depends a lot on the dogs and how they are introduced.

I Have a Lab Puppy Right Now, Wanting to Get Another Smaller Dog, Not Sure What Would Be Good?

Sunday, October 10th, 2010

i have no preferance was looking at ethier a pug, mini daschund, or something like that…. just wondering what people would recomend toget along well with my lab?

I think labs get along with everybody and everything. That’s just my experience with the breed. They are however very rambunctious, especially the younger ones, so be careful about having a small, fragile dog around. Also make sure that you’re socializing your lab puppy as much as possible to ensure that he’ll be OK with a second dog, once that time comes.

When are you thinking about getting another puppy? It’s best to wait until your current pup is 2 years old before you get another one. Not only will two puppies tend to bond more with each other rather than with their owners, but it literally takes twice the amount of time to train two puppies, because you must work with them separately. Try to hold a double-training session, and well, they’d much rather wrestle than listen to you. If you train your lab well, by the time he’s 2 you will have a strong bond with him and he will also be a great role model for a new puppy — which HELPS with training. ;)

How Do I Get a Mini Pug Puppy?

Monday, August 16th, 2010

i paid a lot for my daughters american eskimo, and family members frowned at me for not going with saving a pup or dog from pound,,,well how do i find the type of pup i want at the same time being a animal rescuer? I am in Springfield MA USA
ok i mean a pug puppy….they are soooo cute.

Pugs come in one size only. There is no mini, toy, or any other designation.

http://www.pugrescueofnewengland.org/ is pug rescue of New England. But you should be aware that young puppies rarely come into rescue. Personally, I’d rather have a 1 year old or older Pug with a known temperament and who’s already trained.

There’s nothing wrong with buying a Pug either, as long as you do so from a responsible breeder. Someone who shows their dog, is active with the breed, and who is very picky about whom their dogs go to. http://www.pugs.org can help you find such a person.

What Would Win a Fight a Pug or a Mini Docson?

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

ok so a dochsond howeva the fuck you spell it and a pug first of all i have 2 pugs and one is pretty mellow but the other is a bitch and pugs are smart and my grandma has a min docson and he is very mellow almost like he doesn’t even want to be seen and not aggresive at all======== (BTW i am not going to fight them and nobody take this the wrong way animal fighting is wrong and if you do it your a faget) thank you for your time

I would say the Dachshund, because they don’t back down. Pugs are just as smart, but not usually very fast. Dachshunds were bred to hunt badgers and those little dogs, though usually sweet and playful, can be vicious and quite temperamental in a fight. They are very quick and those sharp little teeth can nip and tear repeatedly very fast. I could see a poor little pug losing an eye to a dachshund very easily. I have a dachshund and she’s very sweet most of the time, but make her mad and she’s 180 degrees the opposite. I have another dog that’s just a mutt and he’s three or four times the size of my dachshund, and when they get into fights, I have to pull the dachshund out of it, because the bigger dog will back down but the dachshund won’t, she’d take a good chunk out of my bigger dog, if I let her, so I definitely wouldn’t have a pug in the same house with her, because I’d be afraid she could hurt it. However all dogs are different, they all have their own unique personalities, so i guess it just depends on the dog.

Is a Chihuahua Good for My Dogs and Family?

Friday, July 30th, 2010

my family and i are thinking about getting a new dog. A chihuahua to be exact. So, i have a pug and a mini dachshund and i’m not concerned about them, i’m concerned about our maybe future dog. Will he get along with a pug and mini dashund and a little 8 yr. old? and by the way my little sis is realy mature.

There always seems to be a missed conception that chihuahuas are not "family-orientated" breeds, but really, they are just as loyal as breeds such as golden retrievers, labradors, border-collies etc. Keep in mind that EACH dog is unique, and may carry good and bad traits that need extra special attention…that’s why training is crucial. I have a chi cross jack russel and he is great with the whole family. He is especially great with kids ( stranger or non-stranger), and is very loyal to those who show him loyalty back! In other words, really research what type of breed suits you & the whole family, and how much time everyone is willing to put into having a new pet! Good luck!

Hardware I.D. Missing on Kingston Mini Sd Adapter?

Monday, July 19th, 2010

I have a vista laptop. When I pug in my 512 MB mini sd card, using an adapter (both of them are from kingston), into a "Realtek USB 2.0 Card Reader", it says hardware id missing. Is there a fix for this?

try this close down the computer, plug in the adapter, plug the card in the adapter, boot the system up, during the systems post boot it will find the usb devices, ten it will tell windows what hardware is install windows then will look for the hardware, find it, set up the drivers for it and then you should be able to see it when windows boots up,

Getting Two Puppies of Different Breeds?

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

We are thinking of getting two 8 week old puppies at the same time. One is a mini dachshund and the other a pug. The pug is male the dachshund female – they are for pets and not for breeding. Will two different breeds get along if they are together at this young of an age or are we asking for trouble?

2 different breeds can get along

however I think you are asking for trouble by getting 2 pups at the same time.

The pups will bond to each other for one thing, and not to human members. You are also making housebreaking harder for yourselves.. because you will have 2 puppies pissing everywhere, and pissing over each other’s odors. Then there’s the issue of training for things like chewing.. they can learn bad behavoirs from each other, and its harder to correct when you have them both doing it at the same time.

I’d reccommend getting one puppy at a time.. get the first one housebroken, socialized and trained.. when you’ve got the training well-established with the first pup, then get your second pup. This can actually be easier.. the puppy will learn from the older dog.

Why Do Some Dogs Howl :D?

Monday, May 24th, 2010

Haha my little female mini pug howls, while my male chihuahua just barks normally (without a howl).
Hehe I just find it cute how she howls in a high pitched voice :D

Haha, my dog Chaos howls as well:

He howls at sirens, and that’s all.

I’m not sure why, here’s a quote that I often see:

"In dogs, the howl’s purpose is not entirely clear, and it is perhaps one of the least used forms of vocal communication. Its roots go back to dogs’ wolf ancestry. Wolves used howling to communicate over long distances. The howl sweeps through different pitches, which helps the sound carry over longer distances than other sounds."

Again, I’m no expert in "doggie communication" LOL.
