Why Is My Male Cat So Horny?

I hate to put it that way, but it's true. My cat has this one toy and it's a mini PUG. He humps the living daylight out of it. He sounds like he is trying to mate (just when two cats are mating, that's what he sounds like.) We got him fixed though. Not only does he hump it, he purposely comes in the same room my wife and I do, and shows us. Never does it in private. Is he trying to tell us something, or is he just being a typical male cat?

For animals the act of humping can be a show of dominance. It sounds like your cat feels that his dominance is being threatened. Did this start when he got that toy? He could feel threatened by the toy dog. Or has something changed in your (or your wife's) behavior recently? If he only does it in front of you he may be trying to prove his dominance. If you've had him fixed then chances are this isn't a sign of sexual frustration. My suggestion is that you call your vet and explain the situation to them. I did this when I had this problem in my rabbit and my vet suggested things I could do to reduce the act. Good Luck and Merry Christmas!

He's really just being a typical male cat. It can be bothersome, but try to see the humor in it. It's a fun story to tell
