I am looking for a pug puppy and we will be traveling from Atlanta to Savannah next week. I am willing to travel a little bit to look for one. I have searched online and can’t seem to come up with anything. Anybody know any pug breeders around Savannah or Atlanta?
I have googled to find breeders but none of the links pan out. I was mainly trying to see of anyone had personal experience. And I want a puppy not an adult dog.
http://pugs.org/breeders.shtml#Georgia Breeder listings for that state. NO guarantee any will have pups on the ground ready to go that week AND have any avail since a good breeder will already have had buyers lined up/waiting lists etc.

Where Can You Find Pug Breeders?
Thursday, February 2nd, 2012Im looking for a good pug breeder in alabama but cant seem to find any. Help?
If you aren’t willing to pay $800 or more for a purebred Pug, with genetics testing, health tests, and overall good standard and conformation than don’t even think about getting one. If you can’t afford one or wait for one than don’t get one.
Here is the Parent Club Site for Reputable Breeders of Pugs, Check for Pug Breeders in your State/Area: http://www.pugs.org/indexbreeder.htm
Tons of people will sell you Pugs, but not all of them are good breeders, many of them are Back Yard Breeders who breed dogs for "cute appearance only" and not for actual good health, temperament and conformation and that is why many dogs brought from BYB’s turn out having health issues, and temperament issues. Pug’s are a flat faced breed and if not brought from a good breeder can have TONS of genetic and health issues, especially breathing issues, which they are VERY prone to if they are not bred correctly.
If you want one for cheap, that will be healthy, your only option in to look for one in a shelter near you, there are tons of Pugs in shelters waiting for a loving home with a loving owner and nothing is better than saving a life.
Check for pugs in your area by typing in you zip on http://www.petfinder.com
Dogs from shelters have an adoption fee and cost $150 or more and come with shots/worming and a spay/neuter.
How Would I Get a Hold of a Pug Breeder?
Tuesday, December 20th, 2011I live in northern California, and i am willing to go above and beyond to get myself a pug:) please someone let me know how to go about this.
Once you have decided on the breed you are looking for, in your case a pug, visit the internet and find the NATIONAL BREED CLUB for your breed. Review all the information about the breed and find the web pages or phone contacts of breeders that are listed there. National breed clubs almost always have certain standards and ethics quides for any breeders which are listed on their pages.
Step2
Prepare a questionnaire of questions you want to ask the breeder. This is a good one:
What health guarantees do you have?
Can you give me a vet reference?
Can I visit your kennel and if so, when?
How long have you been breeding?
Do you enter your own dogs in AKC events?
Can you send me a sample copy of your contract?
Do you sell your litters to pet stores or brokers?
(there is NO responsible breeder that will sell to a broker or a pet store, since it is too difficult to follow through on who is getting your puppy!!)
The LAST question should be "how much do your puppies cost?" but it is of course an important question
Step3
Do make plans to visit the kennel and while there check the following things:
Are the dogs healthy and happy?
Does the kennel owner know each one by name?
Do the dogs have places to run outside their pens?
Are the pens clean and roomy?
(even if the home is a mess or in an uproar and not very neat, the kennels should be clean and all dogs should have food and fresh water available)
Is the whelping area in the house?
(puppies should be raised INSIDE a home for at least the first four weeks in order to get all the necessary social and physical attention needed in the first few weeks)
Do the sire and the dam act friendly and sociable?
(sometimes the STUD dog may not be available, the female may have been shipped elsewhere for breeding)

I’ve never heard of it before. it’s not AKC registered. it’s a smaller version of a pug. My boyfriends parents really want one. My best friend’s a dog trainer and I’m pretty knowledgeable with most dog breeds, but I’ve never heard of this type and it’s proving impossible to find any info on them. I’ve found all of one breeder in all of US and I’m desperate for help =]
