How Much Would You Say a Pug From a Reputable Breeder Would Cost?

We want to get a pug (none are in our local shelter) so we have to get one from a reputable breeder. Generally, how much would you expect it to cost?

Generally, most well-bred purebreds these days are in the $1000-2000 range. You might find one for a bit less because it is a small but not tiny breed (giant breeds and toy breeds generally are the most expensive).

Start here to find a breeder that is a member in good standing of the national parent club: http://www.pugs.org/indexbreeder.htm this site also has tips on identifying a good breeder!

Or click on the rescue link to find Pugs in rescue in your area (they may not be in your local shelter, but there are probably some around) http://www.pugs.org/ OR do a breed-specific search on http://www.petfinder.com to find all the Pugs and Pug mixes in shelters are rescues near your zip code.

Good luck!

    Pretty much depends.
    proabably 500 or more.

I raise and show Great Danes ( I know way different than a pug!) and mine are 1500-2500 depending on pet or show prospect and someone else I know lets them go for $750,00 on full registration

Around $1000 to ensure proper bloodlines which can help minimize some of the genetic health problems that overbred pugs can encounter!
